Privacy Policy
Last updated: 30 July 2026
This page is maintained by the Gridle team to answer common privacy questions about Gridle (the "Service"). You can play Gridle without an account. This policy explains what we store if you choose to sign in.
What we store
- Account: your email address and a display name (username) you choose.
- Auth provider: if you sign in with Google, we receive your email and a provider ID from Google. We do not receive your Google password.
- Gameplay: your current streak, best streak, total games played, and daily results (guess count, whether you finished, and the puzzle date) used for leaderboards.
- Guest play: if you play without signing in, your streak is stored only in your browser's local storage — we never see it.
Why we store it
- To keep your streak across devices when signed in.
- To power the global daily and weekly leaderboards.
- To let you sign back in and recover your account.
Cookies & local storage
We use local storage in your browser to remember your session and your guest streak. We do not use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.
Sharing
We do not sell your data. Your display name and daily result may appear publicly on the leaderboard. Your email address is never shown publicly.
Subprocessors
Gridle uses managed cloud infrastructure to host the app, database, and authentication. Transactional emails (sign-up confirmation, password reset) are sent via our email provider from notify.playgridle.com.
Deleting your account
Email playgridle@hotmail.com from the address you signed up with and we'll remove your account, profile, and gameplay records.
